Anuradha Mukherji is an Associate Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at East Carolina University. She received her PhD in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in the fields of disaster planning and housing policy and development; a master's from Texas A&M University at College Station, and a diploma in Architecture from the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology in India.

Her work focuses on the ability of communities to embed disaster risk reduction into the planning of cities and regions, and on the sociopolitical institutions that shape community recovery and the built environment after a disaster. She has conducted research in India, Haiti, United States and Japan. Her work appears in various peer-reviewed journals such as International Journal of Housing Policy, Housing Studies, Natural Hazards, Journal of Civil Society, Disasters, and Natural Hazards Review.

Her research has been funded by the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership, by the Asia Pacific Network, the National Science Foundation, and the American Association of University Women.



特に、コミュニティが防災を都市・地域計画に導入する能力や、コミュニティの復興や災害後の環境を形作る社会政治的制度に着目した研究を行っている。これまでインド、ハイチ、アメリカ、日本で研究を実施しており、「International Journal of Housing Policy 」、「Housing Studies」、「Natural Hazards」、「Journal of Civil Society」、「Disasters」、「Natural Hazards Review」等の査読済み雑誌に論文を発表してる。

これまでに「国際交流基金日米センター」、「Asia Pacific Network」、「National Science Foundation」、「American Association of University Women」から資金援助を受けている。
